BHM were commissioned to design a ten badminton court sports hall for Sherborne School. The resulting design comprised a large sports hall flanked by spacious storage rooms, with a suite of internal and external changing rooms, squash courts, climbing wall, function rooms, servery and viewing galleries. The large volumes were softened by gently radiused roofs, colonnades, canopies and timber cladding. Verified views were produced to demonstrate landscape impact on the adjacent Conservation Area and heritage assets, and planning permission was granted in 2017. The School has not proceeded with the build.
